Lieutenant Karen Catlow
Lieutenant Catlow has been a member of the Department since August of 2002 and is a graduate of the Rhode Island Municipal Police Academy. She was promoted to rank of Lieutenant in 2023 and currently serves as the 7am - 3pm shift supervisor and the department's Patrol Commander.
Lieutenant Catlow serves as the Departments traffic officer coordinating enforcement efforts and responding to traffic complaints from the public. She is responsible for the overall management of all traffic enforcement grants from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. She serves as a field training officer and is a certified instructor in Rape Aggression Defense (RAD). She has instructed several RAD classes both in Jamestown and in other communities throughout the State. She is certified by the NHTSA a child passenger safety technician, installing and inspecting child safety seats for residents. Lieutenant Catlow is a graduate of Kaplan University with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Management and has a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University.
