Jamestown Parks & Recreation Scholarship Program

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department offers scholarships to ensure that moderate and low-income families/individuals have access to our programs and activities.

Do I qualify?

Scholarships are available to Jamestown residents or students who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Income-based eligibility (e.g., SNAP, WIC, free/reduced lunch)
  • Residency in subsidized housing or risk of homelessness
  • Unemployment or underemployment
  • Health-related financial hardship (e.g., Medicaid, disability)

What scholarships are available?

Youth applicants may receive up to $500.00 per calendar year per individual for eligible programs such as:

  • Summer Rec Camp
  • Recreational Basketball
  • Teen Center Clubs/Activities
  • Other staffed programs (independent contractor programs considered case-by-case)

Adult applicants may receive up to $150.00 per calendar year per individual for eligible programs.

Applicants may receive over this amount if additional funds are available with director approval.

How and when are scholarships awarded?

Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, depending on available funds. For Summer Rec Camp, applications must be submitted by May 31st for first-round consideration.

How do I apply?

To apply, complete the scholarship application and submit the following to recreationinfo@jamestownri.net:

  • Completed application form
  • Proof of eligibility (income, housing, employment, or health status)
  • Proof of residency or school enrollment
