Message from the Chief of Police

On behalf of the men and women of the Jamestown Police Department, I extend a warm welcome to our website. I express gratitude to the committed members of our department, including both sworn officers and civilian staff, as well as the support from various civic organizations and the citizens of Jamestown. Your unwavering support plays a crucial role in the success of our mission.

As the fifth Police Chief in the history of the Jamestown Police Department, I take pride in serving this community. I am honored by the continued support and confidence from elected officials and residents alike. Collaborating with the members of the Jamestown Police Department is a privilege, and our collective commitment is focused on delivering professional and community-oriented police services.

In today's dynamic world, we understand the importance of community policing in ensuring the safety and well-being of Jamestown's residents, schoolchildren, teachers, business owners, and visitors. Our goal is to maintain a secure and caring community where everyone can enjoy, thrive, and raise their families.  -On September 25th, 2023, Chief Campbell was sworn in as the Chief of Police for Jamestown. Before this appointment, he dedicated more than 22 years of service to the Westerly, RI Police Department, culminating in his retirement as the department's Prosecution Lieutenant. Chief Campbell holds a Bachelor's Degree in Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University. His foundational principles revolve around Pride, Integrity, Compassion, Family, and an unwavering dedication to public service.
