Jamestown Summer Camp

 Jamestown Summer Camp: 1st Thru 4th

The Jamestown Recreation Playground Program is back this summer at the Lawn Ave School! Now called "Jamestown Summer Camp" this eight-week summer camp is filled with fun in the sun. Join us for beach days, playground time, arts and crafts, games, special performers, and more! Whether crafting friendship bracelets or enjoying a game of kickball you're sure to have a blast making summer memories that last.

Field trips are back! We have planned three field trips this summer: July 18th, United Skates ($30.00), August 1st, Breezy Waterpark ($40.00), and August 8th, Southwick Zoo ($35.00). You can sign up at time of registration or separately. 

Summertime should be a safe, fun, creative and inclusive experience. There are opportunities for children to participate in active play, crafts, projects, hiking and swimming- a variety of activities for all ages and interests.

*Scholarships of up to $500.00 per camper are available to all Jamestown Youth. Please inquire with the Rec Department for eligibility and availability. 

 Jamestown Leadership Training Program: 9th Grade and Up

We are excited to announce the next stage of our developing Counselor In Training Program (now Leadership Training Program) for our Summer Camp.

The program will offer teens (9th and up) a unique opportunity to gain valuable career skills, personal growth, and hands-on experience within the camp environment / working with youth and the public.

The program will consist of instruction or group placement in the morning, a one hour break, and group placements in the afternoon. We will cover topics such as: safety awareness, responding to emergencies, adapting to an everchanging environment, child development, de-escalation, first aid and CPR certification, games and activities, and much more! 

Included in registration: two uniform shirts, staff whistle, staff water bottle, attendance to any of the field trips, and an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/CPR Certification.

*This program has been subsidized by a Learn 365 state grant with the goal of expanding educational opportunities outside of the classroom and provide real world learning experiences to RI Youth.

One of the most important roles of a camp counselor is making sure campers have a fantastic, safe school vacation so join in the fun this summer with our Leadership Training Program and pick up a couple new skills along the way!
