Every owner of a dog (six months or older) must license the dog annually. Licenses can only be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office. Before a license can be issued, written proof of a current rabies vaccination is required. Any person who becomes the owner or keeper of a dog during the year must obtain a license within thirty (30) days of taking ownership.
  • All dogs are required to be licensed annually between April 1st and April 30th for a fee of $6 per dog, $16 for non-spayed or neutered. A current rabies certificate must be presented before a license will be issued. If the renewal is not processed on or before April 30th, an additional $25 fee will be assessed.
  • Dog licenses may be obtained at the Office of the Town Clerk or by mail by providing a copy of the rabies certificate for each dog to be licensed and a self-addressed, stamped envelope with 70 cents  postage.
  • Dogs are subject to all Town Ordinances regarding control. If found wandering, the owner is subject to a fine if the animal is impounded.
