The Planning Department plans for Jamestown’s future while respecting its past. The Department assists the community in developing a future vision and guides physical, social, and economic change within the Town while respecting the Town’s overall Goal of maintaining its rural character. The Planning Department consists of a Town Planner and a part time Planning Assistant. The Town Planner under the direction of the Town Manager, provides professional planning and community development services for the Town in the following areas:
- Comprehensive Planning and Specific Duties for the Planning Commission
- Development, Administration and Integration of Planning Programs including
- Affordable Housing
- Public Facilities Planning
- Environmental Conservation
- Community Development
- Economic Development
- Administration of Land Use Regulations
- Coordination with Town Boards, Departments and Agencies
- Coordination with Federal and State Agencies
- Grant Application and Administration
