Help Support the Community Playground

"Memory Walk" Bricks are on sale now!

Recently, at the September 18th Town Council Meeting, designs were approved for a new playground to be installed at the site of the existing Community Playground on North Road.  The existing playground, built in 1990, has served the island very well for almost 30 years inspiring creative play for local children throughout over the years.  During the process of designing the new playground, the Playground Renovation Committee took much inspiration from the efforts of those who were involved in building the original playground, doing their best to provide a fun, safe, inclusive, and creative space for children to play for the next 30 years.  Please click here to view the slideshow presentation made to Town Council on 9/18/17.

In order to raise funds for the second phase of playground installments, the Community Playground Renovation Committee has launched a "Buy a Brick" Program wherein the general public may buy bricks and/or granite squares that will be used in the construction of the "Memory Walk", a walkway that will lead into the playground from Valley Street.  Bricks are $125 dollars each and can accommodate engraving of 3 lines with up to 12 characters per line. 8 inch granite squares with 6 line of 18 characters are $500, while the 12 inch granite squares can hold 9 lines of 18 characters are being sold for $1000.  To purchase your square today please download a form here.  You may also purchase your brick or square online by clicking here.

If you would wish to have more information about the buying a brick, or regarding this project, please contact Parks & Recreation Director, Andy Wade at 423-7266.
